Christmas 2013

Christmas truly is magical with kids. Everyone says it but truly it is. 

Christmas eve driving around and looking at the lights and nativity sets that everyone put up really made the holiday.

As we were driving came upon a house where the gate leading to the backyard was open and lights were shining bright. I looked at Dustin and said "you think it is OK to go in?" Dustin told me that its someones backyard and there is no sign indicating that it is OK. 

I thought screw it. Its Christmas eve and if they didn't want someone to see the lights then why open the gates. I grabbed CJ and headed in. Dustin chased after us. Although he was skeptical he couldn't let us go in by ourselves.

This family did an amazing job. I wish I would have had a camera to capture that moment. The backyard was HUGE. There was so many lights and set ups. There was mickey mouse clubhouse decorated play area, there was a pond with hippo and duck, there was a fireplace patio decorated, a fire going with dripping icicle lights, Nativity set and scene, Christmas tree, santa! At the end of the path the owner of the house came out. Dustin thought for sure we were in trouble.

He introduced himself and thanked us for stopping by. It made my whole night. This man was friendly and helped me feel the magic of Christmas. His pager went off and a lady's voice came on saying "there is a large object in the sky following a stream of lights coming through the south united states. The man asked CJ who it could be "SANTA"! I don't know if this guy understands how much he did for the community and my family. 

Christmas morning 5 am, CJ wakes us up. We make our way into our living room where Santa left the vacuum CJ asked for. Our lil guy was so excited. then instead of running to his gifts he grabs mine to give to me. Seriously, warmed my heart the giving spirit he was in and his face when I opened it. It was a mas sager that his dad and him picked out. Such a thoughtful gift from the two best men in my life. 

Now I wont go into to much detail of each present CJ got, but for those who do not know my son he does not like toys but is fascinated with vacuums and lights. CJ got so many lights that I do not understand how on earth he sleeps at night. 

I am truly blessed to have such an amazing husband and son who care for me deeply and make my life mean so much more. They are my light, my everything.

So long since I have been on my blog, now I have to get back in the hang of things. Then I will probably take awhile before I write on it again ;).

CJ has grown so much. Four years old and so smart. My son has found his independence both good and not so good at times. He has brought so much light into our world and strengthened our family. I am so thankful to have had him choose me as his mother. What better month then this to express my thanks. 

Dustin has overcame so much this year. Getting diagnosed as a type 1 diabetic with an auto immune disorder. Which caused him to switch careers. He took this opportunity to  go back to school to study IT. I am so very proud of him. CJ and I could not ask for a better father and husband. Everything he does is for us. 

We are currently in the process of moving again. May seem to everyone else that we aren't settled, but we are doing what is best for our family. Moving to a smaller town, where Dustin will be able to get a broader degree and we will be closer to our family. I am thankful to my aunt who let us rent from her and has put up with us. It is so very hard to live with others and adjust. They have been so understanding and helpful.  That is another reason we have to move because I do not want it to be harder on them then it has been. 

I do wish I would have moved to the city sooner. It has taught me so much and has made Dustin and I rely on each other more. Obstacles truly strengthen us and show us what is truly important.
